You can blame Milligan for not having the right VPs

Milligan is captain of the ship, and he is responsible for whatever happens. But in such a huge company, if his direct reports are feeding him garbage, then he can't make the right decisions. You can blame him for not having the right VPs I guess.

I see it every day. The directors and senior directors send up nothing but good (and usually bogus) news to their VP, and this message gets pushed up to the Sr. VPs and then on to Milligan. WD's announcement of MAMR is a perfect example - it is nothing but lies from the head department that the senior executives believed in.

It's OK for me. I still get paid.

Did you miss the "safe harbor" clause in the announcement? Did you miss there was no technical people in the announcement other than the uber-professor from CMU and Heads leader? Did you miss no experimental data?

Go find Mallary's talks on the internal web site- he even admitted mamr was a 'goldilocks' technology. It's not even that.

As your CTO has said, the announcement was "puffery". Can't be sued for puffery. You know, like HP's "The Machine".

It was a PR announcement to keep the stock price up and, according to your COO, a way to k--l STX. I didn't understand the latter either.

The "truth?" They can't handle the truth! MAMR ain't gonna work! It ain't even MAMR! The head guys have been lying about it for so long, and the execs still believe the BS - un-freakin'-believable. The further up the chain you go at WD, the lower the technical savvy.

It's worth hanging around this place just to see the c-ap hit the MAMR fan. But I don't foresee any exec sprouting 'nads big enough to do anything about the lies and deceit they've been fed from the head guys. So, we may be disappointed.

it's worse. CTO, after explaining to me he would never understand a STO, then went on to claim he's the only person to figure out the "truth" in MAMR. evidently, this consisted of asking what the lead of Heads thinks. yeah, ok. basic fail at logic.

ex-SVP Brown was even more clueless. and the SVP that reported to him, who should have a clue, wasn't even aware there was no observed benefit w/ MAMR a year after the announcement.

a ship of fools. go ahead, enjoy the ride. it made me sick so i got off that rollercoaster.

Supervisors are focusing on their own job security still l, even todays has already been 1 month after 03/06 reorg.

Naive selfish leaders behavior is really harmful & stupid to upper management level & WD working force.
