Was told today by personal that we can’t use our ppto until May 2nd. That when this was first announced they told everyone in a meeting. One not everyone can go to meetings. Also it wasn’t on Walmart one or the wire. So FYI. May 2nd is when we can use PPTO.

The policy is an employment contract. If they break it you can sue them.
If you put your ppto in after you call in it is automatically approved.
Yes I I have never been late or called out for any reason on this one key event day my Mother was in and out going back and fourth to the doctor so on this one key event day I put in for ppto first time ever taking time off a dinner for my mom was scheduled and I wanted to attend hoping that it would be approved but later fined out it was denied. Have the time to cover it help! What do I do!
And what if you don't have the ppto built up for the time off request?? I've heard and recently witnessed employees with 0 ppto and pto are still using ppto for a number of things. and the system is authorizing it. How does that all work?
What happens if you put ppto in for the wrong date
Use your ppto as long as you the hours
I put 2hr ppto in yeaterday for today n says pending
I put in for Potomac for today five days ago. It was denied even though I have plenty of hrs and been there Along time.
Y’all, this is not hard. You can use your ppto on any date (key event dates included) as long as you have enough time to cover. They cannot fire you for using ppto on a key event date as long as you have enough time to cover two points so 16 hours. Read carefully, and if your store of firing you for using your PROTECTED time correctly then sue them
Why do people keep complaining about policies that they can read for themselves. Too many people on here complain about things that are clearly written in the policy sites on the Wire. Why can't anyone take the time to acually read the policy. Whether it is leave, benefits, training, job descriptions etc. everyone wants to complain and pass on incorrect information because they have not read the policy.
As for your uninformed post: You can use your PPTO any time you want as long as you have enough. You can use it to come in late, go home early, take a day off. Whatever you want you can use it. The only people who cannot use the PTO are new hires who have to wait 90 days.
You can't use ppto to cover key events. Was just let go after calling out on black Friday (Thursday shift) and the following Saturday as I was going to be out of town. Used my ppto to cover the Thursday on Friday and saw that the points were taken down but I didn't have enough for Saturday. This was supposed to leave me at 4 points but apparently yesterday I was pulled into the office and let go with 6 points. Apparently the points will get removed as soon as you use them but they will get added back at a later date. These points also showed up as no call when I showed them the confirmation numbers for both dates to prove they weren't no calls.
Just a heads up because I wasn't aware of this.
As a side not does anyone know if 7/31/2019 was a key date. (the weekend before the 4th) I could have sworn it was as I used ppto to cover that day and this didn't happen.
What are the key dates for Thanksgiving? Is today the Sunday after Thanksgiving a double occurrence day?
Just here to say using your PPTO on a key event to cover a callout WILL NOT WORK you just get paid for that day but still get the 2 points I know because i asked personal before they were leaving they said it would work but i got the points to prove it doesn't was on july 4th btw worth it lol
“Key event” it’s not mean you can use PPTO at anytime you wanted to absence a work for your holiday (during key event). Absence still will counted no matter if you used PPTO during “key event” it’s still will be double points minus. Unless you have a proof from doctor or tell a manager a good reason.
Can you use ppto to leave early
So as an extra slap in the face of dedicated workers, Walmart don't think you deserve holiday pay for showing up to work but if you save your hours they'll gladly give you double to just sit at home.
Beware key events. I was just let go after 2 years cuz I called in the day before memorial day. They just implemented this new system and I thought protected for the unexpected was just what it said. But apparently you need the hours to cover the points not the shift.
"Stop blaming other people for your ignorance on policy. Walmart’s policies are available to associates through the wire. People are human and they make mistakes. Look into it for your self. If someone has given you incorrect info be respectful and share the policy with them. Don’t go behind them and tell their supervisor. That’s childish. If a leader is deliberately spreading incorrect information it should be addressed through open door. But first give the associate the benefit of the doubt and share the correct information with them."
I might agree with you on this with some issues but a PC who doesn't know simple facts about personnel issues and who is responsible for keying in points has no business being in that job.

I wish associates would realize the reason for eliminating personnel. So there is no one to tell associates the truth about policy ect. Management can tell you whatever they want after we are gone. No one will be your advocate
I'm a PC. You can use it. Several at my store have used it. Talk to your MHRM.
Unless you are a new associate you def. Can use your ppto. New associates start accruing ppto their first day, but can use it until your 90th day. If u are not new, I would prove them wrong by pulling up the policy and showing my store manager how his personnel is not very knowledgeable.
No wonder they replacing Personnel .
PPTO takes care of all points on key dates. The only two things it will NOT work for are: NC/NS and punch in early 1/2 point.
Totally not correct. Your store needs to read some policies. Also they need to read Attendance Reinvention. I feel bad for you.
You just need enough PPTO to cover the shift you are calling off for. So if you are calling off for an 8 hour shift you need 8 PPTO hours in order for it to not count against attendance. Once you have enough to cover a shift you may use it. People at my store have already started using their PTTO. It is approved by system right when you put it in. I’m saving mines for Thanksgiving.
Not true. People on CAP2 use PPTO all the damn time to leave early.
There’s a 90-day waiting period for new hires to use PTO, but established associates can use it as soon as they accrue. Some stores seem to have misread the 90-day requirement as applying to everybody, which is where they’re getting May 2nd from, but they’re wrong.
Anyone saying that PPTO only covers one point on key event dates is also wrong. It covers both. The CBL is explicit on that.
If your personnel is telling you something that’s wrong, open door it to the store manager. If the store manager is also wrong, open door it to Market HR, then to the Open Door phone line if necessary.
I was also told on key dates. It will only apply for 1 point not 2. You will still get 1 point if you call out on key dates. Also I was told some store are Going and clearing points because no one was told of the May 2 wait. But my store say there is nothing they can do. Again it’s all about who you are.
Just make sure to save it for "key event" dates. If Walmart doesn't want to pay holiday pay for major holidays like Thanksgiving, then why would any of us show up??
I just used some of mine for Dr appt. I think your personnel is mistaken.
Not true. Some of our associates have already used theirs up!
Not true. Some of our associates have already used theirs up!
That can't be true. I have already used some of mine.
You can use PPTO anytime as long as you have it
