...if we had executive management who decided to conduct this entire process openly and transparently so that both us and students knew what was going on the entire time? It still would have been bad, but we'd have gotten a chance to prepare for what's coming.
But no, what we got is a total disaster that caught everybody off guard. No wonder this happened with such lousy and spineless leadership.
There are Millions still unaccounted for and the Courts and the DOE and and the Accrediting organizations were all willing, and are still willing, to give dishonorable behavior a first, second, third, and on and on chance to string everyone along and ruin lives.
All this carnage affecting so many people's lives and no one cares. The only just deserts for these parasites would be to close the entire mess down. At least it it would afford some closure if not the long overdue elusive concept of justice.
Let's see what happens tomorrow when the court gives them yet another chance to carry on the "ATM" withdrawals or not.

Oh please it’s dream centers fault. If they didn’t have enough brain cells or business acumen to know what they were getting into that is their problem. They realized they were in over their heads too late. BR realized his days of being a trust fund baby didn’t prepare him for an actual job- and the id--ts he hired as executive management didn’t have a clue what they were doing. Call a turd a turd. No matter how many G-class Mercedes are parked out front of Park Place it will not convince me they are effective or capable leaders.
This has been beyond a nightmare from the beginning, I honestly don't know who and where to start with the blame. We could spend months dissecting the issues. Was EDMC honest when they projected tens of millions in profits? With the shape the company was in at the time, I can't fathom that was a reasonable expectation. Was DCEH that naive to believe it to be true? Did they do NO homework before this acquisition, or did they have other agendas from the beginning? B-Rich's rep certainly precedes him wherever he goes. In Pittsburgh, we met his niece and nephew, and they puffed their chests out quite a bit about Grand Canyon.
I believe in Centralized Accounting, our management was as truthful as what they were given. The largest selling point to the sale was ditching the "for-profit" moniker and Dream Center's rep as "do gooders". It's a shame the corruption and deceit has been seemingly neverending for so long because there have been many good people in this organization who worked diligently to try resurrecting the company based on false optimism.
