Thread regarding Commscope Inc. layoffs

Commscope severance packages

What sort of severance packages are people seeing when laid off from Commscope? Is there a formula used to make the calculation? I know Arris had a range from a few weeks to a full year, depending on tenure... Commscope seems to have a larger history of layoffs, so is the Arris formula has been published, you would think the commscope formula might be out there somewhere.

Started with 2wire, and felt reasonably good about every acquisition, but Commscope doesn't seem to have the same level of value for employees, so now might be the time to run for the hills. Knowing what to expect at the end of the line will help me decide to stay or go. Recruiters are constantly nipping at my heels...

I got laid off today from CommScope. One month severance. Most people who got laid off were not given much more. It was random, and very little thought went into the people who were let go, and the positions that were cut. There is no back fill. More is coming I hear. Oh well.

"Knowing what to expect at the end of the line will help me decide to stay or go." I smiled when I read that line. What makes any of us believe that this choice will be given? Best we can hope for is that the affected limb/branch will be sold off to pay down the debts, rather than get chopped off. Timing is everything. Line up a new position with a start date set to coincide with receipt of the redundancy check.

Reading the 8.K “Bid Conduct Agreement” between CommScope and Arris, section 6.9 "Employee Benefits", it suggests an Arris employee that gets terminated before April 5 2020 (one year anniversary of takeover) will get all same the severance benefits they would have had from Arris prior to the takeover:

http://ir.commscope.com/node/12376/html

"Buyer shall cause the Company to provide to any Affected Employee who is terminated during the one year period following the Closing Date severance benefits in accordance with, and subject to the terms of, the severance plans applicable to such Affected Employee as of the date of this Agreement..."

It’s on the commscope intranet side. It depends on grade and years of service. If your old 2Wire, 13 weeks would be minimum
