Thread regarding Sungard Availability Services layoffs

Will older employees be targeted?

I've heard that in Chapter 11 situations older employees who earn more are specifically targeted - do we know if this will be the case here as well? And if it will, is there anything we can do about it?

This sounds like a clear case of age discrimination to me - so there must be some legal remedy to prevent it.

That one dude in another thread babbled about HR looking into setting up safe spaces and romper room activities or whatever it is these loony younger workers are into. I have no reason to believe him, but if true it sounds like they’re targeting older workers for RIF.

I was recently laid off and the severence package came with a chart of all employees by position, their ages , and which ones were let go

They have become well versed in the art of RIF's. They been doing mass RIF s for over 10 years now. They have their bases covered.
