As I was leaving the company the new CEO was having high level discussions about moving engineering to silicone valley (where he lives) - it’s a long process but it’s 100% happening. If, for some reason you still work in R&D in Portland or Seattle considering your days numbered.

I wouldn’t call Texas a hotbed of innovation as a rule. For CDK maybe.
To those of us who have been through this before, take a step back. This makes sense. Innovation isn’t happening in Hoffman, Seattle or Portland. Your innovators are in California or Texas. While it s---s, it makes sense.
I’m sure some of us will be homeshored, and some of us will get packages to leave.
India takes over legacy - San Jose builds the new stuff.
That doesn’t bode well for the current engineering employees. Building a DMS from the ground up requires fresh thinking and I guess that means a fresh R&D department. It says a lot about Portland’s influence that we still have one foot in the past as we try to walk toward the future.

That makes no sense. Silicon Valley wages to slap web code on top of 30+ year old legacy technology? I doubt talented developers will be beating down the door! What about India? Will those offices be closing too?
What about non-R&D in those offices?
What about Hoffman Estates R&D?
