"The Spanish employees are always the first and easy targets to get rid. Try it in Germany , France and Italy ...."
Spain and UK are always first, together with countries in EE and CIS, because of the very permissive labour laws. There will be more layoffs in these countries in the next 2 months, starting from Russia.
France is absolutely the worse from this point of view, labour laws are very restrictive, second is Germany.
Italy is in the middle, it's not so impossible to lay off people, but still not so easy.
In all these countries laying off people is easy only if you "volunteer", maybe because of a good package.
Unfortunately it's not so easy to find another job with the same salary and benefits in countries like Spain, CIS and Italy, that's why many people are trying to resist until possible, even when the working stress reaches unbearable levels.
