Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

26 yrs with Walmart and I feel the same

26 yrs with Walmart and I feel the same. I 100% feel like I'm being pushed out. If it wasn't for the insurance, I would take the severance and run. Just feels like a count down until July. I have no interest in opting in to this new position. I wish them luck. Many associates with much heart and talent will not be there any longer. What a shame. Look how many peoples lives this is changing.

Sadly this is our reality. Good post @YmxrU2a-5bqz

Take the severance, always take the way out. Im at Sams and those who stayed, regret it horribly. Those that left have found new jobs and are happy !!

At one time, associates used to see Walmart as a career - a family to work "for" and "with". Those days are gone, we know that now. Here's the sad truth: This is the new Walmart. And, if you're a Walmart associate and you've seen all this sh!t coming down and haven't done anything in you're own life, or in you're own situation, to get yourself out of Walmart, then start NOW. Make a plan. Get out. Believe me, there's no reason to stay for hope or for loyalty anymore. Has Walmart been loyal to you? Professional behavioral therapists will tell you, "if you want to see someone's future, just look at their past". The same goes for companies.

One thing I've been seeing consistently on here is people talking about 'the 15 year mark' and being 'gotten rid of'. Pretty eerie. I was right on top my 15 years when I was targeted by a manager and maliciously stalked and harrassed til he could contrive a reason to get rid of me. .. Looking back on it, I'm glad I didn't do it-----but I was giving very serious thought to ending that person. Fifteen years of your life is a long time.

Anyway, yeah, Walmart seems to have an expiration date for their long term employees, don't they?

Where I am they have slowly gotten rid of most of us with 15 or more years in the last few waves. Funny to watch all the young college kids they bring in later to replace them. They wander around on their phones all the time and expect everything to be easy and screw up more than they accomplish. At least it makes the day more humorous.

They've been talking about this change for two years now. It's no different than Co-Mgrs, ZMS's, UPC clerks, cash office, DSD Receiving, etc. Nobody likes change but all of these personnel people are acting like this has only happened to them. Nobody's position is 100% safe and you gotta be willing to stay flexible.
