Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

Something is clearly wrong

I've had the pleasure of working with many many "educated fool's " lots of people get a position because of the paper they hold all book smarts but thats about it. I have a passion for automotive and technology I know how things work with engines , Something is clearly wrong

transmissions and some electification , all hands on experience and working with knowledgeable engineering folks over the years , I loved the hardware and my job everyday , doing detailed analysis of the parts , do you know how a cam phaser works , or a sliding cam shaft ? Or what a tumble control is for inside an intake manifold? GM never hired me , last summer I was close to a hired direct position ,but my Sr Manager refused to release me out of my position , now I'm f---ing unemployed. Yeah ! Classist society we live in , I saw to many people get hired because they had the paper from some collage but couldn't beat their way out of a paper bag, and I was the one that had to explain how these engine parts work ! Something is clearly wrong.

I ended up pretty uh in the same position as @Yl4Ski9-6lht . Glad somebody brought this up.

the future holds a lot of people who are brainwashed by phone screens, video games, mainstream media, feminists, American Pravda, leftist college professors, secular humanists, and others... many are bankrupt of wisdom and can't think for themselves. which is just how mtb and most ceos and hr people would like it to be. because compassion and empathy

I'm an engineer , it's a daily battle working with what is coming out of our university's today. The track program seems to be more of a social gathering more than anything , very sad.

Most engineer's can't beat their way out of a paper bag , just last week I watched a handful of them walked out the door , some with masters degrees , that is the reality. I don't think anyone is b--ching or complaining only stating the truth , to bad if you don't like it. The educated fool's always makes false assumptions don't they , an engineering degree is not some golden ticket to be employed as clearly demonstrated by a mass layoff.

Truth is that if you are not an engineer, you don't know, and while you may think that you do, you don't, period. Instead of complaining go out and try and get your engineering degree and maybe it will open your eyes to just how much you don't know.

First of all, just STOP. Stop posting here and playing victim/blame game, it's not productive to your current situation or wellbeing. Group therapy on this forum only works to a certain extent and this is not your first post. You have already maximized on your therapeutic ROI. You need to find ways to focus your energy on gainful employment and then lock-step that into a career positon beyond GM. Stop b*tchin and take "action", that's the only way to move out of your current situation.

I have a paper , doesn't make a difference at all , the result is the same. It's who you know and who you blow , that's the game.

Don't hate the Player... Hate the Game.

If your employer is a place that values "paper tigers".... then you can either:

1) Get some pApEr

or

2) Find a new employer.

That's about it.

Move on, sir!

It's the absolute truth , because I was contract I was cut , this close 👌 to getting in direct , I could have been cut anyway but at least my chances of that may have been reduced.
