Thread regarding ADP layoffs

Retirees will not be hired as contractors

I have been told that to be hired as even a contractor after the 6 month dead time, a person who took the early retirement (I cannot call it voluntary, given the context) has to be approved by top management. Anyone else hearing this? I am also not hearing of any folks who have passed the 6 months working as contractors. I hope I am wrong.

Yes, ADP is not a good or stable place to work at any more. I would rather work for a more civilized company than go back to that mess.

Exactly. why go back to 'help' a company that's a freaking hot mess and you would be there to clean up messes and put out fires!!

Why the hell would anyone even go back, ADP is not the only employer on planet earth.

If you are offered ERP, it means ADP no longer wants you. "Voluntary" was peppered through the document as mandated by ADP Legal to avoid an age discrimination law suit. Nothing more.

If you declined ERP, ADP still no longer wants you, sorry.

It was put in no such context. It was speculated by a few and unfortunately that spread like wildfire. I was one that was thrilled with the very generous ‘option’ and took it.

ADP's early retirement was voluntary, but the "context" being that if an eligible person did not take it, there was a good chance that person would have shortly been laid off (with or without severance, which in any case would have been worse than the VERP), or fired for "performance issues". So there was a very real pressure to take it so that you could leave with the most possible rather than with less or nothing.

(I cannot call it voluntary, given the context)??? How can you not call it voluntary? Everyone who took it did so voluntarily and had about two months to decide to do so.

For those working as contractors...how does comp compare with pre VERP?

Took the VERP and I am back working at ADP as a temporary associate after the 6 months. When done I will then be able to collect unemployment.

I was part of the VERP and working as contractor after the 6 month period.
