Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

Stores use to close for a less than 100k bottom line!

But nowadays you can have a zero bottom line and be kept open. Rebranding Staples (which is necessary) tells you everything about how f'd up the company is... They can't IPO it as STAPLES because no one in their right mind would buy it!

It will be a tough sell no matter what they call it.

So back to those under performing stores>>> Guess what will be the first thing to happen after the IPO?

The IPO is going to contain a mega powerhouse of dealers, WB Mason being one of them, Essendant the wholesaler, Hi Touch etc. The new model of the company will be an exact copy of WB Mason and to a lesser extent Wayfair/Amazon feel. W.B. Mason handling the B2B and Distribution to mid market clients across the country. The mid market is where they are going!!

that would be a really neat trick, dump delivery and keep retail! how exactly do you untangle the cluster eff support structure they share?

Umm...you do know that the company is still called Staples right? Also, you are aware that the rumored IPO, let me stress rumored, is about the delivery business and has nothing to do with retail right?

Assuming you know those things, W-T-F are you talking about?
