Thread regarding Sungard Availability Services layoffs

Wow

"The approach the company had taken to disaster recovery really hadn’t changed in 20 years — and the world had moved on," Stern reportedly said. "We had been slow in recognizing the business had to change.”

Voice of the customer. This is the customer feedback that never makes it to anyone in the company.

So Wait, my DISASTER RECOVERY partner, who admits they haven't changed their practices and capabilities for 20 years, and the CEO admits he was asleep at the switch for 9 years, is declaring bankruptcy !!!!! I'm sure to stick around for this train wreck. I'm sure the dedicated employees fearing for their jobs are going to worry about my business in the event of an emergency, good thing it's not hurricane season. I guess Sungard is currently going through their own disaster recovery plan right now, chapter 11 with a bunch of firms that specialize in breakups. Stern and crew are dead men walking for a month, new vulture capital companies aren't commenting in news articles.
