Can someone explain to me how someone with a college degree can only be paid $17 or $18 per hour, doing work that should at least be compensated for $25 a hr at FOX??

Your wage is dependent on your marketbale skills not your academic pedigree. Many people have a college degree.
Welcome to the USA 2019 economy. There is a small sliver of vocations that pay really well (finance, IT & healthcare) - everyone else is in a $20 to $30 per hour range.
This is unsustainable.
It's because you confused credentials with marketable skills.
