With Ellen’s resignation we are all once again wondering What the ? To say staff is surprised is an understatement - though it should not be shocking. seemed we finally had a strong leader who might be able to turn it around. The timing means no one is optimistic. A merge with Argus may be coming but is that good or bad for B’ham? Probably bad.

Indeed, all outward appearances she seemed to be doing a fine job. Question is; what's the real reason she left? Moving closer to family is not a reason anyone on a CEO path would truthfully give for leaving.
Was it a strategic move on her part or mutually agreed upon separation? Both? The logical conclusion; things aren't going well and ssnc is dropping the hammer. Her replacement will be telling; look for someone with experience navigating sale/transitions (if they intend to sell). The financials story now is improving, sales pipeline full, slimmed down product line. Look for more of that.
