SP lied to us from the very beginning. They are cash s---ing leaches that essentially stole $1.3b in cash from Staples on closing day.
They told SG that she would remain the head of Staples and then informed her the night before the closing that they were bringing in JL to run the company. SG tried to put on a brave face and tell everyone that nothing would change but she got axed too. SG is one of the best educated people I’ve ever met but she fell hook , line and sinker for SK and SPs lies and eventually sold all of us out. Pretty sure she’ll never have to work another day in her life based on her package.
In a couple of years Staples will exist as a licensing only brand name with no actual operation behind it just like Toy R Us, the company that Staples was modeled after by TS
Staples board of directors is to blame for all of this. For years they did nothing to reign RS in and apparently never had the true owners of the company ( shareholders) best interest in mind. Lead independent director BS has more blood on his hands than you local butcher.
Proof positive the CEO and Chairman of the Board roles should always be separate individuals.
