Enjoy the Kool-Aid in Florida

As many of you head to Florida this week think of the hundreds co-workers and Friends that were let go in the past year and are at home searching for a job, trying to make ends meet and telling their family everything is ok.

So enjoy the sunshine and those free drinks at happy hour knowing you may be next-

Thunder Sticks. HA! Those were great. Every year it's brand new.

Work it, Live it and....if it makes to much money Fire It! Guess it's not hard to get minimum waged millennials and parasites excited every year.

Optimist: Glass half full

Pessimist: Glass half empty

Realist: I'm pretty sure this koolaid tastes funny...

So, I'm gonna just take a sip or two, enjoy the sunshine and meeting with people.

But seriously, if you are still here and don't want to be find a new job right now. I'm not saying that cause I love this company so much. I am saying this because I don't want to work with people who are miserable all the time.

If you are going to stay, then have your eyes wide open, and let go of how we did things in the past. The head count is smaller, and you will be asked to do more/different things than before.

SP did invest in the company like they said they would, but they never promised where the money would come from! There has been a lot of talk about how they just borrowed against us. Well yeah, they didn't want to put in any more of their own money, and I wouldn't either if I were them. I've been around a while, and every time we brought out some new what ever I was vastly under whelmed.

Some of what was presented makes great business sense, some was a bit of a head scratcher. But the one thing that was clear to me through the whole meeting was it is up to us to drive sales and get it done, or not. As sellers we have to push the new products (with higher margins) hard! That is the only way that I believe that we will actually not end up bankrupt. And Line of business reps have to keep their margins up too. Don't give it away to win a job.

I just came back from the Florida conference, and I have to agree with the other poster— it was amazing, emotional, and awe inspiring! We hugged, we laughed, and we cried!! What an amazing time it was to be with so many stupid, directionally inept, and short sighted people. It’s not something I will soon forget... let me tell you!! I think the best part for me was when we all danced around naked covering ourselves with the blood of the sacrificial chickens ( that represented all those laid off)

and sold our souls to the all mighty SP!! Oh what a joyous time it was. So many new friends ( because the old ones were cut already) were made. The new selling model is the bomb!!! No really it is so gonna just blow up in our faces!! This company is now poised for amazing things! We will soon be one of the greats and rank up there with the likes of Toys “r” us, and Caldors, and Bradlees... and so many more of the legends. Can’t wait!!! 2019 here we come..... now let’s ALL BLEED RED!!!

A truly inspiring, energizing, and sometimes emotional two days. Everything you thought you knew about the company is being turned on it's head. New brands, new selling model, new culture. Totally ready to Work It and Live it.

I’m starting to believe they force ranked everyone, then said all top ranked managers and reps make too much so chop that head count. Almost everyone RIFd that I’ve connected with on LinkedIn were top performers in their LOB

Thanks. We will enjoy. It's the future and you might be a wee stuck in the past.

BTW sorry you're not important enough to come. Its warm here and if it gets too hot your coldness might come in handy.

Bring the red sunglasses so the Florida sunshine doesn't blind you from the glaring truth - you are worth more than this company is willing to give you, both in financial compensation and in respect.

Sad but true... it will be presented with a very large amount of smoke and mirrors.
