Optimist: Glass half full
Pessimist: Glass half empty
Realist: I'm pretty sure this koolaid tastes funny...
So, I'm gonna just take a sip or two, enjoy the sunshine and meeting with people.
But seriously, if you are still here and don't want to be find a new job right now. I'm not saying that cause I love this company so much. I am saying this because I don't want to work with people who are miserable all the time.
If you are going to stay, then have your eyes wide open, and let go of how we did things in the past. The head count is smaller, and you will be asked to do more/different things than before.
SP did invest in the company like they said they would, but they never promised where the money would come from! There has been a lot of talk about how they just borrowed against us. Well yeah, they didn't want to put in any more of their own money, and I wouldn't either if I were them. I've been around a while, and every time we brought out some new what ever I was vastly under whelmed.
Some of what was presented makes great business sense, some was a bit of a head scratcher. But the one thing that was clear to me through the whole meeting was it is up to us to drive sales and get it done, or not. As sellers we have to push the new products (with higher margins) hard! That is the only way that I believe that we will actually not end up bankrupt. And Line of business reps have to keep their margins up too. Don't give it away to win a job.
