SCAD doesn’t accept everyone. I taught there as well before we were stationed elsewhere last year. Their acceptance rate is listed online, unlike Ai. Which do you think would have the higher acceptance rate?
Students today in general are too lazy to attend a traditional college or research university. They want the degree but they want it in the easiest manner possible. Nonprofit and for-profit schools make a killing on this type of student.
The courses and instruction at Ai Argosy and South never had the academic rigor or content of traditional campuses. The only students who ever failed were the ones who just didn’t show up.
Students are lazy, for/nonprofit schools will always seek these students out and profit.

Also SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design) have said they would work with any graphic design and interior design students. I received an email from one of the professors at my school and he set up a phone interview where the representative, my professor, and I talked about my course work and transferring to SCAD. I got accepted!!! I am going to specialize in federal and institutional interior design. Thanks to my professor at Nevada. Thank you so much!!!!!!!
Of course. There are tons of resources out there that can help. I refer my students to Department of Educations website, as well as any accreditation body website. For instance, CIDA for interior design, AIA for drafting, AIGA for graphic design, et cetera. Always find the sub accreditation first and then check main. Stay regional accreditation always. National accreditation is, by far and large, far too general (and generous) in their compliance standards and mandates. If you need more, you can contact Albert Hughes at the higher learning commission if you are in Nevada. Or contact your local higher learning commission for your state.
Any idea about how to contact those who have not reached out to you for one reason or another. I have this feeling that at least some of them may be in a bad place over what has recently gone down and would love to hear some uplifting, way forward information such as you describe.
All students have been told to do their research. I've personally told my students to avoid for-profit institutions or institutions currently under ACICS accreditation. Literature, contact information, and academic referrals, as well as academic representative names and information, have been given to those who have requested them. I've also told my students that, if need be, I would be happy to point them towards a university that meets and/or exceeds training needs that reflect the industry(ies) that they are targetting themselves towards.
Bottom line: I've told my students to do their homework and look at the basic information such as retention, graduation rates, recorded academic excellence, and involvement in both local and national communities such as fundraising, community involvement and pro-bono work done in the community, etc.
How is it that there are people in cyberland who find it necessary to down click informational posts that serve the public good. These must be the same people that, as one left high and dry doctoral candidate from Argosy recently said in this article who believed that the school would advocate for her rather than asking what her allegations were before fleeing in the night.
The historical and well documented adversarial inclinations and relentless greed of these schools was and is still just below the surface and only mildly mitigated by their rapacious need to maintain the cash flow into the pockets of those who would NEVER send their own children to the subprimes the OP's cited. And that's pathetic.
