I personally am so glad that 2 of my colleagues who were laid off found internal jobs within weeks ... their new roles are much better too. I believe existing colleagues and hiring managers helped them get these jobs not HR.

My manager is a female, Highly political b--ch.
She wanted me out to hire his own people. She did everything to push me out. For many years, I was in SAP under 4 other managers and I always had good performance reviews. Then this manager who came from stupid company & took over as my new manager. She called meetings and exclude me deliberately. She did not give me any assignments and every time when I approached her, she did politics to push me for no work. She didn't do SAP talk at all and finally she gave me 30% bonus. She deliberately negate everything I say in any meetings where other people are present. She then push me one level down by removing me form managers DL. She was still acting behind the scenes, asking the other guys to do weekly reviews with me. She cut me my contacts with every one around and pushed me down. Although I took all her snubs lying down and followed everything she said, coz I was paying off a mortgage.
Out of my 2 decades of career, she is worst manager to work with.
Unfortunately HRBP is also worst as they listen to manager and not the employee. SAP brand they are the 1st employee friendly company and there b--ches comes from outside and spoil the work environments.
I was laid off back in 2015 and a few months later, my exact job position was posted. I applied for the position with lots of solid internal referrals and I even knew the hiring manager but I didn't even get an interview for my old position. When I inquired about this with HR, I was told in a politically correct manner that the position was designated for "early talent" so I will let you figure out the rest. After that incident, I applied for several other positions that I was fully qualified for but the result was the same - I was blocked by HR. Every time that SAP claims to be a company that fully support diversity (accepted lots of rewards recently), it makes me sick!! This is why I have zero respect for SAP HR, I don't know how they live with themselves - what are bunch of hypocrites!
Both myself and a coworker who were laid off were re-hired within SAP using the priority code from the HR emails on the job apps. However, we the only two laid off from our team and a lot of people who worked with us knew that we were very capable and experienced people.
I suspect those who were laid off from groups where the entire team was laid off are having a more difficult time, just because there a ton of people with similar experience and why offer jobs with roles similar to the ones that were cut?
It is so true. I rejected outside offers because thinking a real chance to transfer, but like said before it only lip service from HR that they push your resume ahead of others and try to keep you. 0 loyalty after 14 years and countless of managers.
This stunt put on by HR is a sham! Unless you are well connected, you will not have a chance at getting one of these roles. Also, it takes a long time to go through the interview process - unless you have a solid offer on the table by the deadline (April 15th for some folks), HR will tell you that you should pack up your stuff and prepare to exit. These folks need to be educated about empathy. The whole process is extremely stressful and offered false hope for individuals that's already hurting.
The applications are getting rejected without any reason when the requirements are exact match, as soon as they come to know that this is from laid off employer. Who ever are getting new roles may have good network. SAP is not making any effort to provide new roles.
I personally have seen two people who had their job eliminated find new roles, so while I'm sure this is a tough situation for many, I don't think that the blanket statement that they are not re-hiring is accurate.
What a game SAP is playing! It seems they have internally communicated not to rehire laid-off employees. Worst company I have ever worked.
The new positions are not meant for those laid off. How sad that besides making a person redundant, they have to humiliate you and make you feel like a failure and that it’s absolutely your fault for not having a job, by letting you apply for jobs which are never meant for you.

He did not give me any assignments then gave me a poor performance review at the end of the year. He deliberately negate everything I say in any meetings where other people are present. He then push me one level down, to report to a junior guy. He was still acting behind the scenes, asking the junior guy to do weekly reviews with me. Even though everyone else was satisfied with me, this junior guy would pick on everything I do. And in the final month, the junior guy was saying something like I am beyond correction, although I took all his snubs lying down and followed everything he said, coz I was paying off a mortgage. Thank goodness I found a better job outside SAP soon after that. As for that foreign manager, he behaves like he is God and oppressed many employees except for those of his kind and those willing to fawn over him, he finally got the boot this round! My country had opened doors for people like him to come. He drank from our water, eat our food, lived among our people, use our resources, yet he did so much evil. I am glad he finally had his just dessert.
It’s a scam and should be illegal. . I had an internal phone interview set up. When they found out I was eliminated, they canceled. No reason, no response.
SAP making zero effort to absorb the layoff employee. In the recent meeting with managers MD and HR head mentioned the LOB heads and managers to open the position immediately if they has one. however it was more of an eye wash for the layoff employees. As soon as they hear in the interview that I am affected in the reorg, they are rejecting the candidates. Also it was mentioned internally not to hire any layoff employees. If you wish to stay on this sinking ship, reach out to your internal network and ask who has head count coming up. I have done that with several stakeholders but they also lost people. Moral is at an all time low and the press is now buzzing in tech world. Get your resume in order and apply to competitors. Your knowledge and experience will be welcome by many. If you decide to accept a new role at SAP, be prepared for the same scenario in 2 years when Hollywood Bill convinces the board to purchase Another company to support his agenda. It’s going to be a nightmare for the remaining sales team. Good luck!
To me the internal job posting is like a HR compliance process to show the “best men get the job”... while actually many are already filled by somone else waiting to be relocated from another country, another team or another company.
SuccessFactors came by to San Ramon and organized an event.
It turns out they are only hiring for Bellevue, WA. How naive is that then anyone would relocated to WA on the 2nd week.
Is this even a corporate stunt ?
There will be a percentage of people that find a internal role, but you must find a godfather. Network, network, network.
Finding a new role based on the internal postings is a 16 hour a day job. Most of the internal posts already have a candidate in mind.
Based on personal experience, this experience will make you a stronger person in the long run, help prioritize your life, understand companies, and under the definition of true relationships.
On the downside, many effected by this will become paranoid, depressed, and frustrated.
Every single one I applied for has been rejected.
Who would be gullible enough to believe they WOULD?
and on top of that - most job postings are already created for someone else :)
No company does, thats just how they pretend to care. It's BS in case there are lawsuits.
