Am I the only one who feels that things have changed for the worse since Lockheed Martin took over?
I think the biggest thing I’ve noticed is how much emphasis is now put on new talent at the cost of people who have been here for a while and are more knowledgeable and experienced than the newcomers.
People have changed as well - we went from being a family to a cutthroat environment where it’s every man for himself.
It’s definitely not the Sikorsky I used to know…
I have work in Stratford Ct for almost 15years and Lockheed has been a terrific company IMHO. In past four years Lockheed has already invested back more capital in machines and infrastructure than UTC did in the previous 11 since I’ve been on board. This does not make layoffs fair or fun I understand, but speaking to the negative id--t in the post above with the ‘cut throat’ nonsense , if you are doing your job and contributing you might find work more rewarding. Besides, it’s a business and a job, you should b finding the rewards of family life at home.
Attention Snowflake-Yes things have changed, You are expected to work. "You" have had it way too easy, those who refer to the working environment as "Family" are the biggest slackers of them all ! Those of you who survived on Nepotism and/or acting busy are now exposed . Welcome to the real world of work.

I started Sikorsky in 1978 and definitely can relate to this remark. Only thing is that this happened well before being bought by Lockheed. I'm glad I happened to retire one year before that.
