Those are the words in which I can describe the last couple of years at WM, and that process seems to go on and on. Work, knowledge, experience and devotion mean nothing to this company. How long can this keep going on until people draw the line?

When Walmart announced the new pay increases, a spokesperson said that they expect more worker productivity. We are being pushed more now than ever.
% increase on /in the items sold overall. Wmt has same store sales every year there is a difference between the number of items being sold and the increase in price to get those increases every year. its not the the number sold its the price increase. Customers will figure the price is too muck and stop buying and Walmart bubble burst. They make more profit on their stores than online sales. The reason to cut and abuse associates. warran Buffit figured that out when he sold a billion of Walmart shares. yes there will be layoffs and store closings.
Walmart will close that store before they will go union. Plus you have to pay union dues think about it.
Unionize and there will be no problem
It is unfortunate but the longer you stay the harder it is to find equitable pay.
It has to be understood that in a time when even professional, college educated employees are being over worked and under paid, unskilled workers will OF COURSE be screwed. Not nice, but pure reality.
And as far as drawing any line, employers are way ahead of you. They seriously have research that tells them how far they can push you, how much profit they'll make doing it, what to expect from your behaviors and productivity,,,,,and at what time frame/age category they need to hustle you out the door. They know that Ted and Susan, 15 + year associates, will not quit, no matter how stressed and burnt out they are.
Yep it's been the same at our DC for years. Our expected "rate" is raised almost every year, unfortunately we haven't had a raise that even matched inflation for 15+ years. Add to that stealing accrued sick time and cutting our PTO accruel rate and you have one c-appy company to work for. No wonder we've been understaffed and running mandatory OT year round for years.
I think over the last 10 + years i have not had an increase. That means because of inflation I take home less than the year before. Any guesses on the % increases on the items sold overall.
I always thought this was a running joke. Every year at the ISD YBM, I waited for someone in leadership to say "We're doing more with less.' I was never disappointed.
Translation: You're going to do more work for the same or less pay/compensation.
