Thread regarding CVS layoffs

How long before we have job security again?

Is it ever going to happen? Or are we destined to work with a proverbial ax hanging over our heads for as long as we are employed here?

And yes, I'm older and I've been here long enough to remember what it was like when job security was a thing at CVS - in case somebody wants to claim it never existed.

This is how mergers work. The most senior execs of two merging companies are ALWAYS safe! It's all the people at the ground floor that are in trouble. As far as job security, there was a time when working at CVS was good. Those days are LONG gone and have been for a long, long, time.

Job security doesn’t exist in retail. If ever did, you were mistaken.

We are all like condoms, used for one purpose, and when that purpose is done, we are thrown away with nary a care.

I’d say it’s the new normal especially since Aetna Heritage execs seem to like to show off how big their axes are.
