It’s here. It’s happenening. Let the show begin. Let’s face it folks - no matter how knowledgeable you are, how great a leader you have been, how much you have contributed to the business AND how much importance you place on employee morale - these factors work AGAINST you. The less you care or do the safer your job is!

You would think the Board of Chairs would do something.
Except that Al Monaco has been with Enbridge since the mid '90's. - So that is some time in the saddle, almost 25 years.
Would be good. Could heal some deep wounds and re-set the company for a new, ethical direction.
I, for one, would be impressed with a public apology and public thanking of the many individuals who spent decades of their lives building the two (actually, at least four) companies.
Issuing an apology would be an acknowledgement from management they did something wrong. That will never happen.
I can’t see those two particular individuals issuing a public apology and thanks, as much as that action is needed. But here’s hoping that the next CEO has the strength of character to do so.
Agree. AM and CH didn’t build Enbridge (or Spectra). The people they have laid off did. These people deserve a decent public apology and thanks.
As I read this last post, I think... you know, some apologies Are in order. Al Monaco and Cynthia Hanson need to apologize to all current and past employees for the way they have handled this mess, and for how they have treated the people who actually built Enbridge and Spectra.
At the same time they need to thank the people who actually built these two companies.
It isn’t right to walk out people who have devoted years of their lives to making these companies successful without so much as a thank you.
Apologies and best wishes to legacy UG people who got walked out from a former Spectra employee who got walked out with 15 years of service last year.
Totally agree. I’ve watched some of the best people walked out without even a thanks over the last four years.
I have no respect for Al.
Treated with the utmost respect ? What a f---ing joke. I seen employee within exceplanary career of 30 years walked to door like they did not a damn thing great for Union Gas. Real nice Enbridge HR people you should feel so proud of swift execution today.
We should as I have today lost all respect for Enbridge.
100 plus ppl from UG affected according to the email at the end of the day. It seems most names that floated around were ppl that we ready or overdue to retire...or at least that's how they spin it. Hopefully that's the truth.
Sh--ty day. Hope the executives sleep well tonight knowing how many people they f---ed so that a profitable company can MAYBE be slightly more profitable.
It’s interesting that Enbridge’s decision makers consistently choose the bullies to stay on as leaders, and their pushover victims to remain as lower-level employees. A mirror image of what’s going on in ELT. The EVPs and Presidents are all pushovers in front of Al.
It’s a perfect recipe for a toxic workplace. After he is forced out of Enbridge (please let that be soon), Al should write a book about how he created such a poisonous mess and how he personally benefited from it. I wouldn’t actually buy the book, but I might borrow it from CH.
