Thread regarding McDermott International Inc. layoffs

"Flooding" isnt that bad. Most major roadways are open.

All employees are expected to be at work this morning. Failure to do so will require you to submit PTO for hours missed. Call your project secretary if you have any questions.

"That's right. The company's survival depends on you showing up for work today. Kids off school? F--- it, f--- them! They're BABIES, but you're a grown up. Worried about flash floods or getting caught in a storm coming home? Man up and grow up pair, would you?

The company is on its last goddamn leg, and it depends on YOU WORKING TODAY!

The company's state has nothing to do with a series of dumb--s decisions made by the Assclown League! Nothing! NOTHING!!

Nothing to do with management buying a company that was almost bankrupt, taking on all its debt, taking on the Fu-cus Projects, nothing to do with getting into an industry that you know nothing about!

It's about you ingrates showing up for work today. Hardly anybody dies in flashfloods in Houston, usually only a couple per storm! Babies! BABIES!

You should be grateful for the bountiful blessings poured out by management for your overpriced services! We can easily get someone somewhere on this planet to take 10% of your pay to do the same work. 'Actually We're Hiring' in case you aren't paying attention.

Great pay. Great benefits. Great insurance. Great offices. And yet you whine. And on our first anniversary! How low of you!"

Minimum effort for minimum pay. The whiners are the people cracking the whip here. If you're really that critical, they need to cut you some slack.

I’m sitting here listening to all you guys whining about safety and how everyone has the day off. I gotta go with vex on this one. Everyone else I know had to go to work. If your working for a business that’s on its last leg, you would better shut up and do some work and stop playing the entitled ‘aren’t we a safety company’ card.

“Safety is our core value.”

Well, it is a core value, but so is the value of our shareholders who dont want to support a bunch of freeloading employees who want to "stay home from school and play hookie" because of a little rain.

You are a grown up now. Act like one.

“Safety is our core value.”

Meanwhile...6” of rain, flooded roads, 4ft blizzards of snow. Cities shutdown and roads are impassible. Police and fire recommending to stay home.

“Offices are open. Use vacation if you can’t make it.”
