Corp cut the in store staff RPh hours from 80 to 74 in stores open 12 hours. They tried to shove 4 - 12 hour days in 2 weeks down our throats and offered the staffs extra shifts in stores that have permanent open shifts or check that damn reflexsis app on your phone every day to see if there are shifts available. We ended up with a compromise of 3 - 12 hour days and my staff said no to any shifts anywhere else. She took the pay cut. So did staffs in many other stores. Now the schedulers are putting out 12 to 15 uncovered shifts a month that no one will pick up and the result is some stores are having to close departments for part of the day. The company thinks your life revolves around your work and you should be picking up shifts 24/7/365 and driving anywhere within 100 miles of your home. News flash for corporate - not happening, ever.

Here’s a simple solution all the MBA’s at Walmart, etc didn’t think of.... get rid of the $4 list/$10 list. Money will start to roll in, profits will go up, and, there you go

And now Walgreens will be closing 750 Walgreens in the US - a statement in the Walmart article about reducing Pharmacists hours.

Scary times for every employee.

All because corporate, Pessina in particular, is SLOW and INEPT at adapting to the changes in the market place. An all the while employees are being shafted with more and more benefits being taken away. What a leader!

Face it, new grads are leaving college with a mountain of debt and are willing to work for much, much less. They have no idea the ridiculous workload they are in for. The chain d--gstores are greedy companies with no regard for their employees. They are only focused on the next fiscal quarter. They lobbied for years to increase the number of pharmacy schools and graduates, for exactly this outcome. It's called downward pressure on wages. It equals increased profit.

I just got a shock. I went to my usual 24-hour Walgreens at 9PM to get a pr-scrip-ion filled, and the pharmacy was shuttered, with a sign saying "no pharmacist on duty" and something about if you need to get a pr-scrip-ion filled... except that there were no instructions on what do to if you needed a pr-scrip-ion filled.

24-hour pharmacy is what Walgreens is all about. If they k--l off their golden-egg-laying goose then how do they expect to recover market share? And, in my experience, the pharmacy was always really busy with people waiting in line and in the drive through.

I think Walgreens has shot themselves in the foot. I'm going to tell my financial manager to immediately sell any Walgreen's in my portfolio.

So now not even pharmacy is guaranteed a steady job? RX is the only thing keeping this company afloat. Get out now and find a new job before you're unemployed by them
