I sat in a meeting before the vote and heard a tech state that he had to leave early to pick up his sick son from school. The following day, that tech was told he was not productive for the day because he only did "x" jobs. That's not fair.

People who join Unions are the same that buy timeshares -

They spend all their time justifying their bad choice

Pay Pay Pay Pay Pay Pay Pay Pay Pay Pay Pay Pay Pay

Like the last poster said some of you are seriously brainwashed or are mgmt talking. Whining about 2%? Thats 2 bucks for every 100 you make. Im sure alot of you pi$$ away way more than that on scratch offs, smokes, fast food, and other c-ap. Its a small price to pay for representation when the company is looking to put your a$$ on the line. Try paying for courtroom representation on your own and see how much that sets you back.

Way off buddy. First of all it’s not gonna be 50$ per pay period, more like 25-30$ every pay period. So come on let’s all do the math together. 30$ X about 26 pay periods = 780$ right, ok 👍. Now, let’s say on average you have a ten year tech making about 30$ an hour. That tech works any holiday. Holiday pay is 30X2= 60. 60X8hrs holiday pay is 480$, but don’t forget the pay for the holiday itself which is 30X8= 240$. Still with me tough guy? Ok, good. Now I want you to take the 480 for holiday pay & add the 240 for the holiday itself & what do you get? 720$😀🤪🤗. So on average you just paid one years worth of dues by working one holiday. I’m sure you can manage to work one holiday & get that done. YOU CAN DO IT, your Mr. Cool guy 😎 right???

Wrong numbers, it’s not that much. Try taking away at least 20$ (maybe even less), from each pay check. Work a holiday & you made it up. DONE! Like the other post said is this your only reason voting no? If it is you got your priorities seriously messed up.

$50 per check, x 2 checks a month x 12 months for me rounds about to about $1500 for the year. wtf are you making as a field tech that your making that in 4 hours of holiday pay? your math is dumb

Ok, then work half a holiday & then you will make your dues back. It's that little.

What shop are you in that you get ot? Unless there's a holiday, we don't get OT in Morris

Two reasons why the a holes always get primaries. 1. If they did a great job in the field, they would never be taken out, because that would affect managements numbers. 2. If no one likes them already, specifically because they are an a hole, they are now a perfect tool for management to use against us, what do they have to lose, they’re hated already.

No matter which way you voted at this point you guys really need to come together. Stop the BS grammar school talk. “We are divided” “I don’t like this guy and that guy”. Bunch of children. Together you guys stand a chance, separation just causes drama(as you can clearly see). Be a adult and adjust.

Of course they wanna get it done and ratified ASAP. With every depot going union now they just wanna get it done. That would definitely be advantage to the unions. Strength is in the numbers. I know Suffolk county Long Island don’t have any union shops yet, but could someone tell me if there are any other depots without union representation now? Are there any? Piscataway looks like they will be next.

interesting how this vote happens the same time Altice and IBEW reached a tentative agreement with Newark & Lodi.

@YYHdV1q-1quf

Your absolutely wrong. Any decent union will ALWAYS make sure that it’s the in house techs that will always get the majority of the work. If there are layoffs it’s the contractors that go first. BTW, congratulations to all the guys in the Morris depot. Welcome to the IBEW. What I mentioned above will be in our contract. Best of luck with your contract & don’t forget now you are entitled to your Weingarten Rights.

I'm honestly at a loss with the depot. We all voted, it is what it is. I just seriously hope there is some better communication during negotiations than there was organizing this whole thing.

Why not tell people to leAve that aren’t happy about the union that’s what you did anyway was leave Lodi to escape the union and also that’s what your fearless leader bk tells guys with 20+ years In the company “ if your not happy maybe you should leave “ . Nice try with the brotherhood comment only 20 brothers here and you ain’t one !

"Thanks for dividing the depot and now making it uncomfortable to come to work! You’ve won nothing, history and past contracts prove that."

Why don't you transfer to the Bronx shop. We'd be more than happy to have you. 90% of the techs here are pro-company so you'll fit right in.

We all kissed Hilber's ring back in 2017 when we had our election and now we're enjoying all the benefits of being an AT-WILL employee that doesn't have to pay 2% to the stupid union.
