For all those in California and the other 6 states this applies to, our Store Manager said yesterday that the vacation payout will be on this Friday's check.

@YY6MPgK-3oim So Sears basically looks up for themselves as always nothing new here. My last pay check I got I really got taxed pretty anally when I got my final check with my vacation it was insane how much I was taxed. I am from California as well.
@3xsl. Yes I will blame Sears. I spoke to a labor attorney and he stated that Sears could have gotten around this in California and the other 6 states but Sears chose not to. Sears then taxed the vacation payout as a bonus and not as regular earnings thus the higher immediate tax liability.
@YY6MPgK-2qrn Don’t blame the taxes on Sears. Blame the state politicians and the mo--ns who continue to support and vote for every frickin liberal tax increase that is presented on the ballot

Me too. I put it in a savings account for my already approved vacation in July.
