Thread regarding CNN layoffs

I could not happen to a more deserving group of scumbags. The propagandists serve absolutely no useful purpose. CNN has done more to tarnish the reputation of journalists than anyone else. I feel bad for the few real journalists left, as agenda-driven garbage has made their profession about as respected as a DJ at a strip club.

I know better than to think this will serve as a wake-up call, because the one thing that these types of people cannot do, is self-reflect. They cannot be bothered to ever question if they had a hand in their own demise.

The news consuming public has caught on to the bias of the main stream media, and is moving to alternative news sites. For three years CNN and others in the MSM have ignored the biggest story of the century – the fake Russia collusion and the attempted take down of a president. I retired from The AP after 26 years and 14 years part time at CBS in NYC. I taught journalism at various schools in the NY metro area. I am sorry to see the death of journalism. I am even more sorry for the young people getting jobs in newsrooms, expecting to serve the common man and the general welfare of this country by informing them - and yet they are poisoned by a bias that does not look at both sides of the story. The loss of jobs may have been sped up by the coronavirus, but the layoffs were going to happen eventually as the news consuming public goes elsewhere.

Journalism, or lack therof aside, how much of Time Warner's (WarnerMedia) billion dollar investment in the Trump-type real estate of Hudson Yards led to many of these layoffs and even the desire to want to be embraced by ATT? Noticing this has not been questioned or at all addressed. The news operation did not need this sort of accommodation, thus, people, lives, and careers are jettisoned, once again, at the expense of somebody's golden dream and less golden budge . . .
