Unfairness of it all

Does anybody else feel like they're being blackmailed with severance and there's nothing we can do about it? Makes me so mad and sad that they can do that to us. I know severance is not a legal right, but if it's provided, then it shouldn't be used in this manner.

I just wish there was something we could do.

remember the retention was based on last year six month window. when we did not have how man y layed off . also if it takes more than six months that retention # will go up BUT no time window just 60 day notice means they could say tomrrow that is the start of the 60 days therefore the retention number u got will be only for 60 days i dont think that was a guaranteed number

So you're complaining because they're paying severance AND retention bonuses? They could have just let everyone go and walked away. I don't think you understand what blackmail means.

Retention is part of severance. That's the whole point.

No not really, on our side we give a 2 weeks notice and move along with our lives, pretty thankful they can’t do the same. They’re also giving us retention on top of severance.
