Thread regarding Nestle layoffs

I'm happy with how this was done

Am I the only one? I think Nestle is being fair to us. We get retention, we get severance, and we get time to decide what to do next.

I've been here for nine years, and I am going to leave with no hard feelings.

I wish more people felt like this, for their peace of mind.

i agree that the asl and dal did a decent job. the whole thing was put together ina weekend and the severance was generous for me 23 years . but all questions were not answered and scenarios not thought out. hopefully there is another session to ask and GET IN WRITING the exact issues. they need us more than ever now to keep working. this will take ore than 6 months therefore the retention bonus only goes up. i would not be surprised if it takes more than a year to solve. also stores can pull out of the agreement which puts nestle back to square one. i thought it was a little bit of a gamble. if nestle has 30% of the force leave there screwed. thats why the packages were so attractive. if im going out id rather be paid than just retire and get a good meal.

I have been here for 15+ years. I seen all the changes through the years. Done it all. From resets, supervisor, relief, salesperson, back to relief and now for the past 2 years DA. I was always treated fairly. Maybe I was lucky to have a good depot with good supervisors. I’m not sure what I want to do. I do wish everyone good luck in their new adventures.

I was told our pension will not change. We get that when we retire. 401k we will have to roll that over to a qualifying plan our if take it out it will be penalized.

We are still a bit nervous because we haven't recieved our packet so we can't start making plans.

We will miss the company. They have been good to us. Just wish this part had been handled a bit differently. We have a conference call with a hire up tomorrow to answer questions about a packet we haven't seen yet

20 years for me, and Nestle has been more than generous. I am grateful. And I am still working. It’s not over yet. I for one am taking the high road.

I agree. 22 years myself. I feel like they gave us time to figure things out. The route sales model is becoming a dinosaur, even though in it's hay day it was a rewarding and honestly FUN!

This Old Dog is gonna learn some new tricks. Hope you all find your niche.

I’m glad I’m not alone, it sure feels like it at my depot! I’ve also been around for 9 years and have been wanting to get off the truck so I’ve been looking elsewhere anyways. The packages are more than fair!

Also, does anyone know if we will keep (or payout) or pension, if you qualify for it?

It's a hard pill to swallow some of us have families. Myself have been with the company over 20 years in considering they could have just told this to piss off I feel like the company stepped up. They didn't have to offer anything to us. I'm not at all happy about this but I understand it's business and I think Nestle did it pretty darn good job of compensation
