For those who have been through this, what’s the story with transition bonuses? My understanding is you get extra compensation for transitioning systems over to the new company before getting cut and given your severance. It’s a bit soul s---ing but if you have a family to feed it’s an option I would take.

It’s a legitimate question a hole. That would be best case scenario. Retention bonus, severance, and a defined exit date to plan your next move. I’d do it. If there was ever a time to be let go it would be now when the economy is running on all cylinders. Not during mass unemployment.
Dude. It’s called a retention bonus. On top of your severance. For a critical task. If you are asking this question you are not going eligible.
