Thread regarding Sungard Availability Services layoffs

Read the new CEOs contract if you want to see what’s in store for the future...

Sungard AS is a dead goldfish, circling the drain, and has been for years. You need to polish up y our resumes and get out while you can. Severances will be gone, people will be let go, and whatever assets are left are going to be sold at a fire sale. The writing has been on the wall almost since Stern was hired, all you had to do was read his employment contract, which was publicly available. Read the new CEOs contract if you want to see what’s in store for the future…

Couldn’t have said it better myself. Good post @YURuQ6K-2ykd

OPG - you there...???? Whenever someone comes back with actual data... you go silent.... You could be future of sgas; in fact based approach, how Does SGAS get to growth...?? Hint - it begins with defining with sgas value proposition..... the floor is yours.....

OPG must be high up. I see day to day operational dysfunction. The simplest tasks involve multiple departments and byzantine procedures. There's very little ownership by most of the teams. The employees SG offshored work to must really enjoy the job - I mean they work a straight up shift, hand off what's too hard, and head out the door when the day's over - I'd love that kind of gig. The dedicated employees, having been hammered so much and been thru so many layoffs, see the ch 11 event just driving home the notion that all the extra hours put in are pretty pointless. Not buying the hype train - IMO, it's over.

OPG - you are spending way to much time in your safe zone avoiding hard truths... Dealing with facts is way different than being negative. Btw - what is the sgas value proposition again...?? I would like to understand....cuz, the market and previous owners don’t.....

OPG. You're comparing apples to coconuts. The majority of these, if not all, were start ups that VC's invested in from a early stage. How many of these are 50 year old companies, with $900 mm in rev that went through a bankruptcy, restructure their debt and that the VC invested in them long-term and turned them around? Go find some of those stories vs throwing out whatsapp, alibaba, google and so on. Not even in the same universe.

OPG.

Help me understand how you combat the facts. Our new VC has no track record in their history of investing and turning a business around after bankruptcy. A previous post stated Congress study the impacts of the 1978 chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings impact on successful reorganization’s. It concluded that between 10-27% of all businesses succeed after chapter 11. With the higher % being skewed towards smaller companies. I'm all for being positive, but in the same way you caution on the negative posts, it's also irresponsible to give hope where there may be none.

Bravo to you. The tenacious negativity demonstrated by the poster of this string coupled by their response to you is just an indication of their intent.

They only want to brew negativity and create disruption. If you dissect many of the posts and responses on this site they are made by a few individuals that take information and misrepresent its context to manipulate your perspective. No different the. What the media does to push what ever agenda for that moment.

My caution to all is believe what you know, not what you read. Trust in who you respect not with whom you commiserate. Believe in what you value not what you fear.

No need to be insulting. I am quite adept at google searching and found Stern's contract too. I was talking about Robinson's, which i couldn't find online.

This is why this company is doomed. Basic internet skills to search are lacking! Took me all of 3 seconds: https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/789388/000095012310073684/c04178exv10w1.htm
