Thread regarding Nestle layoffs

The Latest

This is what I think is going down tomorrow . We are giving all small format accounts to distributors , we will not have any RSR routes anymore. We will just have 2 step PSR routes and delivery drivers with some additional beverage items 2 step as well. We will be adding some additional delivery drivers with class B licenses in straight trucks. Small format routes are not profitable 2 step routes are. Things are not as doomsday as everyone is thinking, yes there will still be job cuts but 70% of us will still have jobs . Everyone stop bashing the company and your co-workers and be thankful you more than likely will have a job after tomorrow. You can respond tomorrow and say I was right .

As a "frozen guy" ,I welcome the chance of all product going warehouse. I'd rather stock the product myself. Compared to the c-appie service my rep and merchandisers do- stuff in wrong spots, labels backwards, repack not worked, ordering stuff we don't need to pad their pockets, our store will be better off!

If they hand over all products to warehouses Nestle will get crushed! Don’t think they want DG employees ordering and filling - DG is pro DSD and will not let warehouse take over.

The company is spending a lot of money to tell us something. If they were going to make a few minor changes they would have done that through restructuring. I would expect something huge and everyone will be negatively impacted. You will see this in the news tomorrow that’s why they are being so careful with the announcement and spending so much. In the end it’s only a job I put my faith in god not Nestle.

You are probably correct, Dollar General is building freezer and refrigerated coolers warehouse location across the south and across the nation so that they will have control of what goes in their stores so they don’t have to have distributors stock their daily and frozen items. We will gradually loose all the ice cream business in Dollar General in the next 2-4 years. I believe that we will focus on just large format accounts. Let’s hope so!!

there are some Great salesman with GREAT rapport pushing constantly for extra. Heck every time I see a hole I'm grabbing it

I love my job and love working for Nestle. Do I agree with everything.? But I bust my arse everyday. honest days work everyday ...godspeed

Crazy I woke up thinking the same thing....high volume areas will not be affected. The small mom and pops even some rural areas will be going to distributors....
