Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

Layoffs in July?

I hear there will be some big reorganization/layoffs coming in the summer. Anyone have more info? Which groups are impacted? How are the severance packages?

They are troll that still believes the bs about keep your head down, work harder and you’ll be ok. NOT!!! That’s just so you don’t see them when they walk in with the blood and tear stained used boxes so you can clean out your desk. And while you are bent over clearing the last drawer out they can smack you in the back of the head like cattle in a slaughter house!

Comply, conform, get along or

Resist and get sent to the concentration camp, oops, I mean early retirement camp.

@YVBoPvL-8zca. If you are so busy delivering, why are you on this site? This is a lay-off site. There are some of us who have families & healthcare dependencies. We need to know when the next layoffs are. This site has been pretty accurate.

If you really believe there’s no layoffs, you are dumb and naive. There’s been layoffs every month this year. For the past 2 years, layoffs Feb, April, July, Sept like clockwork. Half my team was cut a year ago, then the rest of my team was axed in September, then they cut my manager, a great guy I worked with for over 10 years and knew everything. I got thrown into another group that I don’t belong in. horribly depressing being here - it feels like a sinking ship

I asked my manager if I was getting a huge whopper raise and he said,

SP has generously enrolled all remaining employees in the "Jelly of the Month Club" employees can expect the 1st month's delivery of KY soon.

H1B visas and outsourced contractors are favored over American citizens, and responsible for IT layoffs. Look around you in Tech. Any Americans there? No. Any Americans in IT Management? No! What a disgusting tactic to lay off American citizens.

This is the same time the new "pay structure" is supposed to kick in for SBA.

Not a coincidence.

Grab your Ankle's SP will be bending you over and pushing folks out the door.

I am just waiting for some fool to call BS on this..... It IS NOT BS!

CUTS is the definition of transformation.

Don't wait for them to show you the door. Leave on YOUR terms!

Be weary of severance packages..had a recent manager with over a decade of service receive zero severance after a store closing....told no longer part of the new ownership's package...BS

severance is not required of your employer unless you have something other than the standard employment agreement. from what I have been able to figure the packages have steadily declined.

In my department, I hear a reorg is coming too. Rumor is they’ve hired some big shot, who will tell us how bright the future is, then reorganize and cut. They will consolidate several teams into one with a new name, lay off old timers, so they can do more with less. I’ve seen this so many times already, it’s a joke. They call this BS “streamlining” or “transformation” ha!

We better get severance!
