This is the same company that was in line to acquire at least several hundred(at least 800 and possibly a thousand or more)Rite Aid stores had the FTC(which mercifully still had officers beholden to the 44 administration and not those beholden to 45)approved the full WBA-RAD merger.Suddenly,Fred's is now fighting to stay in business even though their store base is primarily in states where RAD has exited or is exiting as I speak(the southeast).We should be grateful for the divine intervention of the Obama-administration era holdovers at the FTC for preventing yet another 'Haggen' quagmire that could have claimed at least as many RAD stores(800 or more)as those(about 750)that are being pruned as part of specific states/regions that were sold off to Walgreens in the wake of the blocked outright merger.
