Possible that Simon wants to step away from the day-to-day of overseeing ARM to focus more on his role in managing the Vision Fund.
The company is undergoing dramatic changes and has been embroiled in political turmoil over the past few months; probably a good time to step away from it.
That would be surprising since Simon is well liked. I think it's more likely that a management shakeup would occur especially once RISC-V starts even more momentum. Wall street comments show increasing dissatisfaction with Masa's Vision Fund investments by dumping a lot of money in these companies then finding a bag holder to hand it off and head for the exit.
