Every step of the way in this saga, Oxy leadership demonstrates competence and staying 1-2 moves ahead from CVX, a company 5 times their size. Add the nerve, to be politically correct, of their aggressive move to buy a company of almost same size and I am thinking it will not be bad if I make it on the other side with a cubicle.

I'm very excited for the obsession with West Texas to end. And this insane notion of energy independence; do any of you think rapidly producing a finite resource to "compete" is a smart idea? Shale doesn't have nearly as much to provide as you think it does.

Next up GOM and Colorado going to be sold! With the new deal, no shareholder vote is needed. If you work in backoffice, accounting, IT, finance, etc. Find another job ASAP! Waiting for severance is dangerous. You’ll suddenly be competing with a glut of mediocre lazy middle management (most APC employees!)

I like the transparency and at least those assets know their fate. Plus there are so many arrogant people working Moz anyway. Enjoy Total!

Icahn is the wild card. He gets a say in what happens just by reputation. Watch what he does in the next 8 days.

Wow this chick is desperate for wtx. As a shareholder and employee..i ain't voting for it. She can stick her money. Who the heck wants to work at a company that's so desperate for a piece of desert??? It's pathetic. I know it doesn't matter but I'm saying it anyway.

Oxy shareholders are not happy. The Oxy board needs to heed their concerns.

OXY’s new deal doesn’t require shareholder approval. Anadarko shareholders certainly will approve this. Looks like it’s OXY.

Kind of assumes Oxy is the buyer.

Make no mistake, Anadarko is being sold for parts. Oxy doesn’t want the company, just the assets. If you aren’t working on the frontlines everyday, you will likely be let go.

Either GoM or DJ for about the same price. Both spin off lots of cash. There’s either Political risk in CO or operational Macondo-type risk and massive capital outlays in GoM. I’d guess GoM goes. And Oxy has no Deepwater.
