Too bad i dont have issues with my sup or manager. Feel sorry for shops that due. Maybe thats why i will keep my 2%.

No issues with vaca approval. I do miss the sick an personal time. Guess what union, it will never go back. Yeah, you'll argue we can negotiate. How long will negotiations take?

Why bundle me in with everyone else? If i decide no, thats my god given right. With or without explanation.

No one likes bullies or pressure or scare tactics. Most pro union bs. Times have changed, so change with times. 20 plus years with this company. Many changes good and bad, new management and old. And im still here making money.

This site said from pro union guys, that last year more layoffs. Didnt see any on tech side in my shop. I respect the people who left on their own and suceeded. They didnt like it so they made a change that did not affect anyone else.

Agree with the post that the whole industry is changing. Which forces telcom companies to make changes to how they run business. Thanks cord cutters. Thanks hulu, youtube, netflix, etc..

Can a union increase customers? Last i checked they still pay us. How about cable bundles that people dont want? Guess no union can control that.

Do i work in a safe environment? Guess what union, this company sends safety alerts and news letters every week. Whether its to cover their @ss or not. Safety is still on me. What about those useless selfpace agility lessons?

Guess what union, you could negotiate better safety courses that cost more. Even negotiate no work under certain conditions. Last i checked cable is right under power always. Thats the name of our world. Dont like it? Union ask power companies to fix their cr@p to make it safer. Even then same result, safety is on me.

A union has a price motive, 2 percent. Take away that motive, would you still care? Of course somebody has to pay for that representation. I get it. But its not fair if i dont view things the way you do and have to pay the price. Even though i would benefit more with my 20plus yrs seniority.

I will vote no evrytime. And guess what, if union gets voted in, i will leave to find something else. Just like many others did for themselves.

Only the weak and scared and insecure need someone to speak for them. There are hundreds of other ways to care for your families, with or without education.

Someone posted about Janus vs afscme. Thats only for public sector not private. However, in principle if the option were to let me work among union as a non member, then knock yourself out.

I know the guys in Freeport & Bethpage couldn’t be happier with IBEW. Their union has already stopped the company from doing couple things such as putting a stop to supervisors trying to change policy & protecting guys from being disciplined due to invalid supervisor/mgmt claims. They don’t even have a contract yet, but heard there making very good progress. Don’t forget about your Weingarten Rights guys. For all shops looking to vote union, check it out. For those shops that don’t want union, good luck when it’s just you by yourself against supervisor, manager, & HR.

Thought this was a great post & could be helpful for guys unsure whether to vote yes or no. Remember guys you only need 50% + 1 to win. You guys can definitely do it. Best of luck guys.

Once again with the EXCEPTION OF UNION DUES, WHICH ARE MINIMAL, what incentive do you have in voting no to union representation & being an at will employee? We all want to hear.

Still waiting to hear what those incentives are. BTW, I know several techs who have inquired about taking these SCTE courses & are still, over a year later, waiting to take any of them. Yep, how about those good old SCTE courses🤡🤗🤪.

The only dummy are the ones voting NO! What incentive do you get for that? You just wanna save your 2%..oh no wait I for you said “just do your work and go home”..

that's because you have to take the initiative and sign up dummy. same thing as the tuition reimbursement. Everyone goes off the marquee and sees "doesn't apply to ATS". So hey, we don't have it. Correction, ATS does have it, you just need to investigate it and start the ball yourself. pathetic

Unions can make it harder to promote great workers and get rid of not-so-great workers. Due to the fact they favor seniority based ladder.

Union can absolutely not guarantee a job, point blank, and period.

This is completely false. Please stop spreading false information. What your saying is absolutely ridiculous. You do realize unions work with the company to get things done that serve both of their best interest. The second part is very misleading saying the union cannot guarantee you a job. Once a contract is agreed upon with both parties it makes it very difficult to let any employees go as long as they have no corrective action & performance is in line with their peers. Remember that once you vote for union representation you are now entitled to your Weingarten Rights. This only applies to shops that are represented by union with or without/in process of getting contract. Once again with the EXCEPTION OF UNION DUES, WHICH ARE MINIMAL, what incentive do you have in voting no to union representation & being an at will employee? We all want to hear.

A unions can make it harder to promote great workers and get rid of not-so-great workers. Due to the fact they favor seniority based ladder.

A union require dues that I might not want to pay. This is unfair to people who might have practical or ideological objections to the union and don’t want to comply with requirements to pay dues, like myself. Google Janus vs afscme.

Union can absolutely not guarantee a job, point blank, and period.

If this company is such a sinking ship, then abandon it like the other post said.

It’s just mind blowing to know that there are techs that will vote no given all the negative things this company has done to us since they took over. Why would you vote no? What’s the incentive you get from voting no, then having no rights, no voice and most importantly NO CONTRACT? Without something in writing & agreed upon by employees & company, this company will continue to do what they have been doing since day 1, and that is getting labor at the lowest rate possible (contractors) till there are barely any in house techs left. You’ve been living under a rock or in complete denial to think otherwise. Please stop it with the whole union dues nonsense because if that’s the reason your voting no, then you are one very lost & confused person. Best of luck to all the guys in Piscataway who know what needs to be done & have the guts to do it. Remember you only need 50% + 1. You can do it.

If you dont like this company, leave and go work for another one. Stop whining and work. Ride the train till it stops. Then get on another train.

So let me get this right, you are voting NO because of the 2%? If so, you are a complete !d!ot!! When this FTTH is over you will learn! Not only the techs that left on their own but why do you think a lot of managers and supervisor left. PISCATAWAY better get their heads out of their A$$!! You work an extra hour of OT and their is your 2%..

Most of the workers from 17-18 left because of VRP. And the ones that didn't leave on their own got fired because they're not good workers. Why should I lose money from my pocket because you want a 3rd party "voice" to hold your job because you're a terrible employee? If you're so unhappy with your job, find a new one that you can be miserable at. Stop trying to force a union onto those that clearly don't want it.

How many coworkers have you guys lost from 2017-2018? If you think your safe in this cut throat company then you are truly naive. 2%... so you loose that 1 time then you will never even notice it afterwards.

How many times do we need to vote “NO”? If it was a “YES” vote, we would be stuck with the union forever, and don’t even bring up the decertification BS... what ever happened to no means no? Looks like the union is gonna rape another group of techs for %2 of their pay with lies.
