No inside information ,but I think it’s one of these 3 things - selling DSD distribution rights to another national company, moving to warehouse ,or giving all small format accounts to distributors and we will service all large format accounts 2 step with additional Nestle beverage items . Your thoughts?

Here is my take on the situation, leadership gets called to a emergency meeting last week. The same time that this happens I hear from a dollar general DM, and stores that DG is opening perishable warehouses. I then found a story online about it. I have also heard about it from the other food vendors it is going to affect. I told my DSL about it and he claim he knew nothing. I feel that DG is going warehouse with our ice cream, therefore eliminating small format, our need for outside distributors, it would reduce warehouse volume, possibly DSL role reduction. Everything is going on DA trucks and PSR. DG is a national customer that's why all the meetings at 1 time, so everyone finds out together, it will force a major reroute. The DG warehouses will open by the end of the year therefore getting Nestle time to make the changes needed. I did hear from management that our DG contract was up. Everything seems to make sense, guess we will find out tomorrow.
I think that they are selling the frozen division, they’ve already gotten rid of the candy division.
I’m a class A driver and they have us going out with 3 pallets in a 48’ tractor trailer, they stopped repairing the trucks, and I think this raise the drivers got, was to keep everyone from walking out, once they here the news, it’s messed up, Nestl’e finally pays the drivers what there worth, but it’s all just when there about to close the doors on us
My husband is a route salesman. So worried that he will be out of work soon. He has said for months that he thought Nestle would eventually go warehouse and cut out the routes, but did not expect it to happen so soon.
Tuesday meeting nationwide
I just hope I get another hideous pullover I can give to Goodwill.
Just DSD operation will have impacts.
Whether it's 5,000 or 50,000 employees impacted by this, does it include DSD, warehouse, and water?
Hopefully if we are being sold off there are buyout packages offered.
The meetings do not include anyone from the production lines or warehouse workers, at least where I am at. Asked someone from production if they knew anything about Tuesday's meeting and they knew nothing.
All meetings are simultaneously at 1030 am Eastern
The 5000 jobs would probably include all pizza and ice cream factories , supply chains, DC locations , management , frontline employees ect.
I'm sure of we are being sold, then we will all have to reapply for our jobs with that new company. When Nestle bought the pizza from Kraft, that's how it worked. Both ice cream and pizza sides had to go through a process to see if they still had their job.
When you say affecting 5000 people, pizza an ice cream. Are you meaning out of a job? Or just under new management?
We should become unionized teamsters!!
Well I’m back the latest information is that we have been bought it by another company or at least the ice cream part and it could effect 5000 people if it’s pizza and ice cream .
The big guys are meeting today. Us little guys and gals have to wait until Tuesday.
When is your meeting? Ours is Tuesday.
Definitely one of the first two
