I was laid off in 2018. I would love to come back to Qualcomm.
Does anyone have suggestions?
I got a better job in another state but San Diego is my home and I really want to come back.

company has office in state where you live. so get hired at current location then after 2 years IOS to team in SAN.
Do not take the negative comments personally, they are from current employees who are p-ss-d they didn’t get a big, fat severance package. There are plenty of places, most better to work for than QCOM. In SD, biotech is booming, lots of AI start-up money etc...get out there, network, make it happen!
Jeez. The aapl settlement seems to have stoked some egos on this board. Relax ppl. Layoff is not same as being fired for incompetence. OP:some of qcom teams are back in hire mode. Stay positive and give it a shot. You have nothing to loose .

San Diego job market, at least for engineers, is very strong. Why not apply to many other companies in San Diego? Qualcomm is still a rather depressing place to work.

yeah, I like puppies, thunderstorms in the springtime, loud coworkers, having a narrow scope of responsibility that screws me every time there’s an economic downturn, making incompetent managers look good, Mentor Graphics software look awesome and productive and, chocolate.
Only time I like San Diego is when there’s a wildfire in sorrento valley.
