What is the work culture like in this department?

PMIC VI in SD is a terrible place to be in. Thanks to the awful Dir XMa.
Won't be long before all or most PMIC VI jobs relocate to the new campus under construction in India. Many layoffs are coming when the very large new campus opens in India, HR and SM will call it geo shifting.
Assuming that the OP is genuine in his/her question then the short answer is PMIC VI is one of the worst departments in Qualcomm if not the worst by far.
PMIC VI is very political and has clannish culture. You have to be from the same ethnic background of the director to advance in this department. People sabotaging each other and managers encourage the unethical behavior. A lot of incompetent, insulting and rude managers. Terrible work life balance. Yelling, condescending behavior, and humiliating in front of others are very common in this group and encouraged by management especially if you are on a work visa. Very depressing atmosphere. The place is a complete H1B sweat shop. Avoid PMIC VI at all costs.
Now why would you ask? I know why, because you already know PMIC VI is a cesspool. I've never been in the PMIC VI department, most of us have heard the horror stories.
In case your not pulling our chains, just in case you are seriously considering a job in PMIC VI, then my best advice is don't. Run Forest, run, the reputation is horrible.
