Not that I would like them to happen, but the fact that other retailers have them often an WM doesn’t, speaks about the fact that WM is losing enough workers with silent layoffs and attrition.Is it possible that people are leaving in that create that we don\t need waves of layoffs?

Home Office has had what seems like constant layoffs for the last five years or so.
Anyone with longer tenure or making over 100k is supposedly a target. It’s so bad that people don’t want to get the badges that have their years of service on them anymore.
And yes, folks are leaving because of the toxic environment. It’s bad.

Home office has been doing mass layoffs for longer than the past 4 years. It has been happening for about the past 10 years.....unfortunately those that need to go (i.e. inept leaders) - seem to keep their jobs while those that actually worked are sent packing.
The HO has been going through a mass layoff the past 4 years. Some, in the 100's, made the news. Others not so much because it was low numbers. Nonetheless, the HO has been reducing headcount drastically.
The 'valuable associates' getting laid off? It started with those with 20+ years, then reduced to 15+ years, then finally 10+ years because they make too much. They went after those that were 50+ years or older. They went after those that used their benefits too much. I knew someone that fell into all 3 categories.
Now? They got rid of severance packages so to get rid of you they just give you a bad review. That is the kiss of death. I've heard of people with glowing reviews year after year and suddenly poof they mysteriously get a bad one and are broomed out.
The HO is so toxic I am hearing people leave just because.

What are you talking about? Walmart has mass layoffs every year
Totally agree they are silently pushing people out the door by giving more responsibilities and no extra pay and barely a raise.
