Our packets clearly state the severance (not retention) is a minimum of 8 weeks OR if you’ve been there longer than you will receive one week per year of service. So if you’ve been there 15 years you would receive 15 weeks of pay and someone with say 6 years would receive the minimum. Little confused why some say 1 week per year for everyone but packet says otherwise

The following information is coming from HR directly. I have an HR friend who was finally able to communicate with me and gave me some of the details. It's kind of jumbled but these are the details:

The frontline package is 1 week for every completed year as of last day worked. Those over 50 get an additional lump sum. You only get severance and retention if he stays employed until the Nestle-identified last day of work (which has not yet been determined). If he leaves before that, it's considered a resignation and he gets nothing. retention will be at least 6 months. So if by chance his last day is less than 6 months from now, they'll true up his retention bonus to be calculated based on at least 6 months of earnings. The retention bonus is 40% of his eligible earnings from today until his last day of work. Eligible earnings are all the time that he's working and not the time that he's not working. So PTO, short term disability, etc. don't factor into eligible earnings. So it's at least 6 months of his eligible earnings times 40% but it could be more depending on when his last day is. He will also receive the full time severance package, which is 1 week of severance for every full year of service. He'll also get money to pay for COBRA for the number of weeks that he gets severance. The packet he receives in the mail will detail all of the money associated with his severance and retention packages. There's also a ton of FAQs in there that will answer a lot of your questions. We expect the transition to take at least 6 months. Paid out for unused PTO. They expect the transition to start in Q3, so at least six months from then.

That's some of the basics that I KNOW. Packets should arrive tomorrow or Thursday at the latest. Kind of dissapointing that you can't take severance and leave, you have to stay on or lose it all. Husbands boss said they still have to meet their numbers too, or it can affect something. HR also said they are committed to letting everyone have 60 days notice of their last day. Hopefully they figure that out soon. Some areas could be sooner than others.

Minimum of 8 weeks so 7,500 severance pay plus insurance reimbursement if you have it. I’ve only been here 3 years and get the same. Retention pay is based on your hours tho so mines around 9k estimated.

Love how they give you the option to apply for positions in different divisions of the company and make it sound so easy. It’s easy to transfer within DSD but we have guys that have been here 20-25 years and have been told thanks but no thanks too many times to count.

This Nestle management at its finest ... fix mistakes with bigger mistakes ; meanwhile the top people that are the ones causing the mistakes get to stay.... this will be one of the biggest mistakes nestle has made to date ..... Schwanns has got to be throwing parties now they have a golden opportunity to own the pizza aisle.

Leaving with serverance here. Can’t imagine working for a company that stresses about safety yet leaves your employees stressed out and worried while working for 5 days before the announcement. And they are a big company. No job is ever fully safe. The market will be flooded now tho. Especially because our DSLs and ASLs will be job hunting as well. Think it’s time for me to go back to school and finish finally. Eh. Already a bit tipsy so...lol. If anyone finds any good employment opportunities post them. Let’s be a good Nestle family and help each other out. Single mom here, but I’ll do what I can for everyone.

My wife will be leaving after 11 years with Nestle.

I am glad the agony is over, this weekend was horrible (anxiety, crying, etc.) - she feels much better now as there is some certainty.

Good luck all!

EDQ is how many cases your order per store. Here in ATL is 30 for Walmart, 25 for Target, 30 for Kroger, etc. just means you have to order that at minimum per store to hit EDQ.

It’s not over....yet. But yes they will pay serverence in biweekly payments. Retention pay will be a lump sum. Get your 60hr weeks while you can to up that retention pay. There’s no internal jobs in my state so taking another nestle job isn’t an option. But I’ll be here till the end for the money, and I’ll have another job lined up for a soon as it ends. Getting my class A while I’m still here as well. Talk to your DSLs. They are losing their jobs too so they are willing to do whatever they can for you.

Employee packet states severance for FT is a minimum of $7,500 or 1 week/each full year whichever is greater. Plus retention bonus if you stay til end which is 40% of any earnings from now until last day.

If you’re smart you won’t break your back for this company while sticking it out until the end for the severance/retention bonus. It s---s. But I for one know I’ll get every dollar that I can.
