I heard a rumor that Aramco will be terminating the severance pay that we are supposed to get. Everybody would get paid out for existing service, but nothing would be offered from that time forward. Any truth?

Labor Law governs severance not Aramco.
I can’t turn the job calls and emails off. Something fishy about someone who claims there is no work in the US right now.

fantastic benefits! and yes they were more than worth it, you wouldnt understand because either you are an local sixth grader (if there is such a thing) trying to scare expats away, or an expat who tried but couldnt get in.
If you’re any good you dont have to worry about leaving anywhere

Actually it is, I got laid off almost two years ago, still can't find a stable job, either have to commute 3 hours a day, or travel 100%, still can't make anywhere near the same money or get similar benefits. Two years ago the commute was a whole 20 minutes, the kids had a good safe school and the community was great, health care and insurance was the best, now wife is terminally and we are about to go bust with the medical bills, so, all in all it's not a LOL situation for us.
Guess the expat they need to clean up behind them went home so they’re dripping up this place.
