Thread regarding Ford layoffs

How did we get here?

Working at Ford is slowly but surely turning into a nightmare. So much uncertainty, so much frustration, so much stress, not to mention politics....

I feel like quitting and finding a job at a fast food place would provide me with more peaceful life than I have right now thanks to this place.

I implemented my own Smart Re-Design. I redesigned myself out of Ford! I refuse to work for weak minded, selfish, mentally and morally stunted managers. The management at Ford is behaving in a treasonous manner and should be held accountable. AMF

I worked for two years as a management consultant, and believe me . . . you don't want to work at one. The hours were terrible, and the travel was ridiculous. Yeah, they paid a lot, but it was not worth it. We worked constantly while at the client site, even pulling "all nighters" before presentations like college kids. Work, eat lunch with colleagues, work, eat dinner with colleagues, work in your room all night, sleep, repeat. Travel out every Monday, back every Thursday, in the office Friday and Saturday, work from home on Sunday. Got b--ched at by my boss because my cellphone was off on Thanksgiving day. No thanks.

Um, the service industry is not where you want to go to have a peaceful life. I have many friends working in bars and restaurants. It is a perpetual sh1tshow with demanding work, long, unpredictable hours, and poor pay and benefits.

Yes Ford s---s, especially right now, but it's nothing compared to a service industry job.

Remember folks, tip your damn server. Yes it's a outmoded practice, but they don't get paid sh1t otherwise.

I have a person close to me working at national consulting firm. They informed me that no one wants to work the Ford account because it's supposedly "Challenging". My response was "Well, probably because we don't respect you, realize you guys know nothing, and see all of you as a massive waste of money."

But yea seems like a good gig. You get wayyyyyyy overpaid for knowing nothing and messing up companies. You also get moved to a new company every month so you'll never have to actually be accountable for anything you do. Where do I sign up?
