Need to do some layoffs to have enough money for all the VPs to have their luxury conference at Pebble Beach next week.
Only thing WDC does well now is layoffs - company is totally going downhill.
Next round is in June but won't impact every group. Loss of Huawe business is very bad though. If that revenue can't be replaced, there will be even more cuts.

WDC is dying - get out now !
Company has to restructure as the HDD revenue is declining YoY. The SSD side has to grow in all segments. To execute on SSD, the HDD has to offset. There exists L-H vs L-W bias but ,in the end if you’re in California working on HDD, you’re a target. The HDD upper management is just refusing to see the signs and living in a bubble. Once the old guard is out, free fall for all. Company is overspending everywhere, its matter of time thr game going to get exposed. People come to work , mostly filling up excel sheets and PowerPoint and passing the buck around. Executive circle is not willing to take the blame, constantly singing same tune of transformation. If you are where you were four years ago (with few HR ladies changing in between) , you’re transformation rate is zero. Only the slogans change.

ON the contrary the legacy HGST people were cut first and the WD employees retained. Depends on the BU and who runs it.
Big cuts have already been announced for June and December. If you work at WD and aren't aware of this, you must be stoned - or a legacy HGST person. If your a HGST person, you are pretty safe - keep doing the same job you started doing 20 years ago and complain about how hard you work - during your three-hour work day - and your HGST manager will save you. What a f***ed-up place we work at!
The legacy WD people are getting cut before the legacy HGST people. Keep kissing your manager's a-- and maybe you won't get cut...
