I got the boot today, 3 mos package, shown the door immediately. Mgr said a bunch of services eng were axed today. Two colleagues i know of also hit today. I had been working with big telco accounts for high touch support. Apparently business is down. Sad as I really liked jnpr. Advice for new job?

One thing i didn;t understand, why can't juniper plan for one time mass layoff per year, rather every day layoffs? what will be the morale?
Told and shown the door implies AMER. EMEA folks are getting some notice per local labor laws, as I understand it.
What's the impact? Is that global, AMER, EMEA, APAC?

Trust in that this is actually a huge "relief push" to better your future! The economy is strong and companies are really hiring, so have little worries in that regard. You'll realistically get a 30%+ bump in pay with a better company/culture working on more relevant/interesting technologies.
