Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Now's the time to leave on your own

Anyone with engineering or IT skills and wanting to hone their craft should be interviewing and getting out of Ford asap.

The company leadership is corrupt and only out for themselves. It sickens me to watch all the intentional waste with overstaffing and buying unneeded and unused hardware and software.

People don’t have enough work to do so they practice the Ford official sport of ShxtStirring.

Good advice from @YHRDMaZ-qmz.

It’s not your decision to save a spot

Been a month since I left. All the rumors got me looking and found a great opportunity luckily. Got tired of month after month dragging out of this. New gig is more competitive but like other poster no pension and was not paid premium for no retirement so just got tired of the churning. I hated to go to coworkers and 10 years at Ford but would not go back. Lost 15 pounds and sleep better and like the day much more. Been a month so newness warm off but still feel lucky I made the move. Hope I saved spot for another. Best of luck to all but there is life after the big blue.

not the OP but I will be doing just that. Turning in my resignation tomorrow, excited, but nervous at the same time. I don’t have the Ford pension so there is no reason to hang around when a better opportunity is available. -2qkq , you are welcome

I imagine OP and others will exit as well. Why would any highly skilled and motivated individual want to stay long at Ford? Baffling. I think the answer is they don’t but lack the self confidence to venture away from what they perceived as safe.

"Leave on your own so my job might be a little safer if people leave..." Are you following your own advice? Your post doesn't mention it.

I think the only problem is that all large companies are like this, some even worse. Even if you switch industries and you go to a Dupont, Nestle, Microsoft, Apple, etc I'm not so sure those executives will care about you either. Welcome to the American dream my friend!
