Definitely morale k--ling

I'm leaving Ford, even if I don't get SRDed. The old guard acting in their selfish best interest at the expense of the company is probably the reason why such cullings need to happen....and sadly, the cullings are affecting the innocent. It's quite a shame to see old white guys with massive pension funds being so greedy for marginally more power/money. No way I will keep on working at Ford in the future if that means the fruits of my labor are used to feed these fat cats. Such mismanagement at virtually all levels k--ls morale. The only manager I thought was properly qualified, Paul Ballew, left.

I do feel schadenfreude seeing old guard employees who played politics be let go, they deserve it. Just a shame there is collateral.

What you describe is typical corporate America today. Large companies source all engineering from local suppliers, we end up performing project management tasks. It would be nice to survive on your engineering and problem solving skills, but nobody cares. The supplier does it all. Now it becomes a favorites a-- kissing game. If you are what they call a doer, it might be best to take matters into your own hands and learn another skill. Always have a backup plan, especially in this environment.

The old guard who played politics remain, those who had their heads down doing work will get axed.

The exception being the nosebleed level where the up and coming eliminated their rivals. The CIO knifed his competition and also his career long mentor. Ford real truths and culture in action.
