Thread regarding Sungard Availability Services layoffs

Time to head out

Now is the time for everybody at Sungard AS to start looking for a new job. No matter what happens, this will never be the company it once was, and it'll just be a matter of time before something like this happens again.

My honest advice is to update your resume and start actively working on finding something better. I know I have.

I wonder why he is still with org. His whole intention to create a slave team India, where he gets Royal treatment. No one cares for him in US or UK. He boasts that he flies in first class, he comes here spends so much company money in the name of team building, where he and his pets booze and misbehave with employees, this is known to all Indian employees. No one dare to complain because she would loose her job. When this type of person dominates in a company, that company ensures it's failure and that is exactly happening.

Shame on you FKR

The worst of them all. Takes a paycheck consistently bashes the company.

Massive hypocrite.

OK to disagree but eff you if you stay and take money from the same place you disparage with the cowardice of anonymity.

You are the epitome of weakness.

I am not OPG. however, you are clearly hurting. Your anger or whatever you got going on is beyond this company.

You are bitter. Angry. Frustrated. Do yourself a favor and leave. You have turned yourself into a whiny troll. Whatever you feel, it’s ok. You sound angry and cheated. Just leave.

You are clearly one of those people if given a million dollars would first complain about the taxes. The company is turning the corner and all you can do is whine.

We. Don’t. Need you. We don’t want you.

“I expect there are lots of doors in the surrounding walls of seat you sit in”

-one positive guy

You know what’s around the seat they sit in?

Lots of empty seats - because dipshit upper management offshored everyone to India

I wonder if upper management even hears all

the customer complaints about getting a rotating cast of brand new Indian test planners Every single test or about things that used to take 3 minutes taking 30 due to ticketing and DCOps now doing all physical work in philly or that they are now trying to force operations support over to India as well .... it takes years to become proficient in supporting customers in such a dynamic environment ...every customer is a one off ... you can’t build documentation and expect brand new employees to be able to jump in and support customers ... Customers know this ..... good luck trying to “come out in a stronger position” with customers leaving in droves

And if that is you KR .. you are possibly the dumbest f*ck of them all

Probably is KR. Even he can’t be dumb enough to think customers will stick around with all the offshoring.

Obviously Purely Gullible,

Your reply is spoken like an exec who is in line for a parachute and failed at his/her responsibility to put the companies goals for success before his/her own benefit. Leadership failed this company, admitted to failing this company, I assume you're ok with paying them to walk away while any type of severance to you or your workers gets cut. As for your BS around the initial customer base aligning to the relevant aspects of our portfolio we look to provide in the future, again spoken like someone who uses BS and no substance, you must be an exec. You've probably never delivered, sold, or operationalized a damn thing at SGAS or anywhere else, you're a plant, hoping to leverage your a..kissing into something for 12 months until the place goes down for good.

Your commentary regarding The executive’s having “Golden Parachutes” and what they do with the proceeds is telling to me. Your concern is less about what is the future of the company and more one of jealousy and entitlement.

I can care less about what people get to leave and focus more on how can impact those around me to succeed and drive desirable outcomes.

I think it’s safe to say we are not like minded people.

We do agree on one thing. SGAS will be a smaller entity when we finally emerge into the company we should be. This does mean roles will be eliminate as the initial customer base aligns to the relevant aspects of our portfolio we look to provide in the future. And yes that can represent risk to those who resist the change and fail to bring value.

And for the lack of vision/direction you mention. Perhaps it’s over your head or you were not listening (or working) the many times it was described.

Lastly I do agree that the execution of that vision has been flawed and trust that the new leadership will make the changes necessary to correct this.

Make sure the next door you use has an exit sign above it.

Yes. Yes. Yes.

We should all definitely take the “honest advice” from someone posting completely anonymously.

All of you are fools if you believe ANYTHING here. Positive or negative.

Why don't all of you talk with people you actually KNOW and TRUST vs reading this ANONYMOUS dribble. Again. Ignore positive and negative because the truth is likely in the middle, and you won't see that here.

OPG stands for Obviously Purely Gullible, either you are that stupid or you're a plant by the company to keep sounding the company line, you know little about the situation this place is in or the people who will take over and run the place moving forward. Watch on May 2nd when Stern goes back to Baltimore with his art gallery hobby and 5M in his pockets, and the rest of the LT walk away with their 2 years worth of salary, while the rest of us get downsized over time and the vulture caps squeeze as much out of this place as they can to make up for the 900M they just lost.

Wake up, you can't be this foolish

Financial security is more than just a reduction in debt. Do we still have the same poor leadership? YES. Do we have new products or services? NO . Have we stopped the customer exodus? NO. Does the VC have a 3-5 year business plan? NO. Do we have word class support? NO!

The reduction in debt is only one factor of many. You're very narrow sighted OPG. You obviously know nothing about how a business is run.

I don't want SGAS to be the Company it once was!!! I am excited to help shape what it will be!!!

No offense to those that are holding on and thinking of the glory days. The reality is that this fear of the future and the lack of willingness to change is what put us in this position. It's time for the next generation to step up and shape this company for next iteration of what we want it to be.

Your day of telling stories of what you did and spreading fear of change is over!!

Its time to embrace our heritage & look forward to accept the challenges of the future. Lets make SGAS a new thriving entity.

I expect there are lots of doors in the surrounding walls of seat you sit in. My counsel to you is use one of them. open that seat up for someone who is accepting of a challenge and looking to make an impact.

I know I am.

Company more financially secure that it has EVER been, awesome Q1 results and trends. Yeah, your story might have been fair 6 months ago, but leaving when there is light at the end of the tunnel...hmmm.

Stick it out...or don’t.
