Thread regarding Walgreens layoffs

Shame on you Walgreens for placing so little value on the work we do

I am just an ASM but I have bled for walgreens. I was asked by my DM when I was going to apply for a store manager position. Honestly I don't even want to stay anymore.... They send me to c-ap stores with c-ap managers. I put in all the sweat to fix these stores and then get transferred to a new challenge presumably to gain experience I need to be a store manager. Well now that my DM is asking me to apply, I don't want it. I dont want walgreens. I was the chump who embraced frontier and used it and pulse to transform stores. I turned cashiers who could only ring people up into engaged employees performing full OSA functions, answering IC3 in Pharmacy and checking in vendors... They have done everything I asked.... Now my hours are cut by over 50 hours a week in the front end alone! b---s---. Check outofdates, walk customers to products, get an 83% NPS, ic3 in the pharmacy, resets, scrub the toilets, damn compass projects, ppls, truck, manage vendors, ad tags... We were BARELY getting this done and only so because I have a fabulous hard working team that I FREAKING BUILT. Now I have to let a part timer and a fulltimer go while maintaining our standard. Shame on you Walgreens for placing so little value on the work we do. I am done.

An honest post by @YGQXdYc-1lrb that basically sums up the way workers are being treated.

Couldn't agree more. I'm also an ASM, at a store that probably has one of the best teams I've worked with in my 14 years. I have to break the news that my front end budget is dropping from 330 hours to 270 hours and we were told no layoffs. The only way to give all 6 of my CSA's a fair slice of the pie, is to make all shifts 5 hours and no one employee will get more than 20 hours in a week. I will have photo and even register 1 manned by SFL's for long stretches of the day. That leaves me, to complete ALL the work of OSA, putting away truck, unlocking the bathroom (seriously who the F#*K leaves their house without going to the bathroom first?), Checking in vendors, ic3's, etc. I'm not doing all that. This place will fall apart and I'll sit by and watch while I apologise to my team. Then I'll take my severance or unemployment and find a new job, this one is clearly over.

They don't appreciate everything we do for them. Most employees at other companies don't want to put in hard work and time. I guess it's time to bring our skills to other jobs that will thrive because of us.
